Audition Expectations Guide

For Interested Musicians and Singers

Thank you so much for your interest in serving on the worship team at CATALYST CHURCH! This guide explains our expectations and the audition process. Please read through everything below so you know what to expect.

Our Core Values

We believe that serving on the worship team is about MORE than just musical ability. We look for three key qualities in every team member:

  1. Character

  2. Community

  3. Competence

Anyone who stands on the stage during our weekend worship services is seen as a leader in our church. For this reason, we want to make sure our team members are people of integrity who model what it means to follow Jesus.

The Audition Process

Here is what to expect:

Step 1: Attend a Sunday morning rehearsal

We will meet with you to get to know you better, hear about your faith journey, and discuss your interest in serving. And see how the band prepares for the weekend.

Step 2: Leadership Questionnaire

You will be given an in depth questionnaire to fill out. You can print it out and hand write your answers or fill it out digitally. This questionnaire is required to be filled out before your audition will be considered.

Step 3: Audition

Open Auditions are held quarterly. You will have a chance to demonstrate your musical abilities. We will provide you with 2-3 songs to prepare in advance.

Step 4: Decision and Next Steps

After the audition, our worship staff will discuss and prayerfully consider each candidate. We will reach out to let you know the outcome.
