Musical Evaluation Expectations Guide

For Interested Musicians and Vocalists

Thank you so much for your interest in serving on the worship team at Heritage! This guide helps explain our expectations and the musical evaluation process. Please read through everything below so you know what to expect.

Our Core Values

We believe that serving on the worship team is about MORE than just musical ability. We look for three key qualities in every team member:

  1. Character: Those serving on the team must have and exhibit good character.

  2. Community: They must be part of our church community, or willing to become part of it.

  3. Competence: They must be musically competent and meet the standards we ask of our team members.

Anyone who stands on the platform during our worship gatherings is seen as a leader in our church. For this reason, we want to make sure our team members are people of integrity who model what it means to follow Jesus.

1. Character

We are not looking for perfection—we are looking for people who are progressing in holiness and living a God-honoring lifestyle.

Traits We Value:

  • Reliability and consistency

  • Humility and teachability

  • Strong work ethic

  • Deep devotion to Jesus

  • A lifestyle that honors God
